Reinforcement Cover Check Queensland

Overview

SureScan was engaged by a client to conduct a reinforcement cover check on an isolated bored pier which appeared to have reduced cover.

Our Approach

The most effective technique to attain the most accurate data was to perform isolated horizontal scans at set intervals.

Findings

Using the Profometer Cover Meter we were able to successfully identify the reinforcement in question and prove that the cover was increasing as it went down the pile. This allowed the client to isolate the issue and work on a repair method as opposed to installing another costly pile.
