The objective was to safely determine their depth and exact positioning relative to the approach slab, facilitating construction without damaging essential utilities.
SureScan conducted a detailed GPR survey of a specified 3m x 1.5m area to map conduits under the existing road.
The investigation revealed that during construction, a concrete fill with a slight angle was poured atop the approach slab. Reinforcement was detected 280 mm below the concrete on the north side and 140 mm on the south, indicating the slab’s angled installation. No utilities were found within the slab area.
