SureScan was engaged by a client to assess a wastewater treatment plant’s staircase.
Using GPR and Covermeter, we were able to evaluate subsurface voids, concrete cover depth, and condition.
These assessments detected voids and confirmed the depth and condition of the concrete in staircases, revealing significant damage from aggressive gases and areas of reduced cover threatening structural integrity. Immediate actions, including protective coatings, spalling repairs, and component replacements, were advised to prolong their lifespan.
